What exactly is goal setting? The act of selecting a target or object you wish to achieve. Pretty simple. Picking the right and realistic goals can be tricky. What does success look like? What do you want to achieve? Ok but seriously, what are you willing to suffer and work hard for?
The real challenge is not you making the determination you want the result, but if you’re willing to accept the sacrifices and discipline required to achieve your goal. Do you want the lifestyle that comes with your new quest?
Goals are useful for setting the direction. Systems and actions are created for making the act a success. Everyone wants a gold medal, but no one wants to train like an Olympian. As you set your goals going into the new year, think about the lifestyle you’re looking to change too, habits, routines and end goals. Use that to build a system of actions to help you get there. Nothing is written in stone, things will change throughout the year, but direction and check points will show you progress with the goals you’ve set.
